Also known as Dirty Ice Cream, Sorbetes is a Filipino Food that emits Filipino nationalism. Sorbetes is made up of mainly Carabao milk and Cassava flour which makes it have its unique flavour and low production price. Even so, it is commonly sold to the public and the cart has been an icon and true representation of Filipino Culture. It truly has an aura which screams "Filipino" to us.

Each part of the cart has it's own Filipino touch. First of which is the wheel of the cart. The wheel design has been with us for ages yet it is one of the most important elements as it helps the seller bring his cart everywhere he goes to give the Filipino Youth that extra sugar they need in their system. Besides which, the wheel design is similar with the wheels of a kalesa, a traditional Filipino transportation device which utilizes a horse. The wheels also set the whole cart apart from the surroundings as it is one of the first things to see in the cart besides all the colourful designs on the cart itself. It is something truly wonderful and exciting to see!

Besides the wheel, another very important part of the Sorbetes cart is the bell. Yes, this simple device used to call on the children or a whole Barangay to buy Sorbetes is a classic sound we hear everyday as we go home from school or even early in the morning is truly something that shows that "It's more fun in the Philippines!"

Sorbetes is something that we Filipinos should truly be proud of. Not only is it made from 100% Filipino materials, it also brings about traditions and even delight to our faces everyday. From the sounds that bell produces to that familiar taste that wakes up our taste buds, Sorbetes truly shines and shows to us that nationalism can be found everywhere. It's all just there and we can show our Pinoy Pride as we walk on the Philippine streets, showing to everyone that I am a Filipino, and I am truly proud of it!
